Why I’m standing: Sarah Sachs-Eldridge, Endlebury

Sarah

Enough is enough! That’s why I’m standing. Almost one out of every two working people in Chingford is not paid a living wage! For starters we need a £10 an hour minimum wage and jobs for all our young people. If elected I pledge to vote against all council job and pay cuts. I will help to build a movement against zero-hour contracts and all the attacks on our living standards. I support workers fighting to defend their pay and conditions – firefighters, teachers and others. In 2011, I joined the Jarrow March for Jobs which called for massive investment in a programme of job creation which ended in Chingford, where millionaire mansion dweller (no) work and (poverty) pensions minister Iain Duncan Smith is MP.
